The German news portal Winfuture published a series of 34 screenshots of the latest Windows 7 build number 6.1.6801. The Windows 7 screenshots do not show a lot of differences to previous versions or screenshots that have already been published. Most interesting are probably the closeup shots of the Windows Media Player, the Libraries that provide links to various media storage locations on the computer and new screenshots of the updated Microsoft Paint version.

Another new feature is the Display Color Calibration feature which allows the computer user to calibrate the monitor. Lastly the screenshots show the complete Windows Update dialog

Why do people complain about vista?  Its just as simple to use as XP.  Looks better.

If you don't like the looks, GET A NEW THEME!
If its too difficult to use, well your obviously incompetent.

Computers are the way of the future, if you can't work them well, start looking for a building to jump off as your not suited to even modern society.

i would have to agree with the one review i read above i love xp i have owned a windows os all my life and i have found its the most user friendly out of them all thats the only reason why i dont want to upgrade to vista. some of the options that were so easy to find on xp you have to dig for on vista and if your not a computer savy person its going to be difficult to find alot of things like the run option to get to the system untileties window thats barried in vista xp has it right there on the start menu. so with this new os i dont think it will matter at all about what other options they have added to it or getting ride of some of the bugs that vista had if they dont make the format and lay out user friendly and appealing to the eye i dont think people will buy this new version either.
  • let's see now... apple claims to release a new OS with every addition of OSX. They all look the same to me (cept leopard) I hate apple. What bout windows 95 to 98, they looked the same, but 98 could do more. It's all about features, and hey, they might let you customize the start menu with different skins/colors

Why did'nt they take windows xp and up grade it to windows xp HOT. I love windows xp. I tryed Vista and I dumped it in my trash can. I have 4 computers and I put them all back on windows xp. I hope windows 7 is a lot better.

Oh, I'm sure they'll change the UI,
I think they're just using this current UI for demo purposes
There should be a new UI for Windows 7

Wow...already disappointed.  Was looking for something semi similar to Vista but not this much in the GUI.  If Windows wants to jumpstart Vista a little, they need to make the UI a little more user friendly and colorful.

I really don't see too much of a difference in the UI. Then again, I guess they worked so hard with Aero for Vista that they didn't just want to throw it all away and make something completely different. It really seems to me something along the lines of a huge service pack, not a new OS.

Windows 7 looks very simulator to Windows Vista.
Maybe it's a service pack with touch screen applications.
