Official Windows 7 M3 Screenshots

Paul Thurrott started the day by posting new screenshots of Windows 7 that Microsoft provided to anyone attending the PDC08 conference in Los Angeles. The screenshots are from a different build than the one getting distributed by Microsoft on the PDC08. Paul managed to post a batch of his own screenshots as well. We managed to get our hands on all of them and decided to split the screenshots into different posts to avoid one huge post that would take ages to load completely. We start with the official Microsoft Windows 7 Milestone 3 screenshots.

    I think it looks good, I think its an improvement over Vista… and Vista is an improvement over XP and Mac and Linux all together.. (Dont complain to me about mac being better n linux being better…. i have a mac, i have used linux and i have used xp… i know what i love, and i love vista… ) windows 7 is just gonna be sweeeeeeeeet

    It’s really weird how we are amazed about WINDOW MANAGER and DESKTOP THEME’s and are able to call THE WHOLE FREAKING SYSTEM names only judging how nice the static screen grabs are looking!!!?
    What about perfomance? what about “special priviledged” services that I absolutely can not switch off? What about data-paths trough kernel, that will screw every other data-path ( encrypted multimedia streams from disk until monitor?!? ). Who the hell cares how nice the wrapper is, if the candy inside is same sugar with same preservatives.
    Of course it’s nice if windows will look a bit more like a linux if I boot it up sometimes for gaming, but this is not something, that you can use to pull peoples attention away from “other options” any more.
    I don’t believe windows is going away any time soon, but microsoft has to come to terms with the fact, that it is not “only reasonable option” any more ever again. ( Unless microsoft will buy america and make it a crime to have any other operating system. I hear the price is plummeting .. well, and then pay for the rest of the world with a loan, america as collateral .. I wonder if the guys currently owning “the world” will take the deal though.. )

    ALL people are arguing on why MS is steeling and they are not making their own stuff , can an one tell me why the MAC and Linux are not that much user friendly, why all applications are not compatible with MAC or Linux if those who think MAC and Linux are user friendly, they are n
    ice and MAC is gonna rule the computer world some day. those millions of companies those are creating their software’s why they are not making of Linux or MAC why only MS are they mad obviously not and they know that MS is user friendly and that’s why it has been use every where.
    Ask any feature Linux or MAC i am sure 95 % people will say they don’t know about it.
    but if you will ask about Windows. Most of them knows and they have knowledge.
    so the people those are cribbing about steeling ideas should wait and watch what they are gonna get instead of just blabbering

    Looks kind of like KDE4 alpha shots from 2006, with translucency turned on. Even the widget popups look the same except for the colour scheme.

    @ Snow & Pat,

    1. Snow, Shut up.. Vista is the biggest reason why people get over 2 an Apple. Vista better than OSX or XP.. Vista is crap. 

    2. @ Pat, Apple has just 2 years ago opted for intel processor. 

    Maybe you knew it yet but Apple’s share of the computer market is growing huge since the release of Vista. It will only be of short duration before the smaller companies are starting to develop for the Mac.
