Windows 7 Reviewer’s Guide

Microsoft has released a first draft version of the Windows 7 Reviewer’s Guide which is basically a first look type of guide that has been divided into three main categories that addresses certain user groups; The categories are Windows 7 for end users, Windows 7 for professionals and Windows 7 for the ecosystem. The guide does contain quite a few screenshots of a current build of Windows 7 which might make it interesting for users who just want to see how the upcoming operating system looks in this stage of development.

The new features, like the Windows 7 Taskbar, that have been introduced at the PDC 08 are already included in the guide which makes the guide a great read for everyone who missed the conference and wants to know what has changed since the last week.

This guide provides a first look at how Windows 7 helps meet the needs of both end users and IT professionals. It’s written as a companion to the pre-Beta preview version of Windows 7 that Microsoft is distributing at the Professional Developer’s Conference (PDC) in October 2008. Some features described in this guide will be demonstrated at the PDC, but will not be available in the pre-Beta build Microsoft is distributing at this event. Throughout the guide, we have noted which features are not enabled in the pre-Beta build.

Also, not all features that will be delivered in the final version of Windows 7 are covered in this guide; however, it provides a great first look at how Windows 7 will make the things you do today faster and easier and make new things possible. We encourage you to reference this guide as you experiment with the pre-Beta preview version of Windows 7, and to try the Beta version of the product when it becomes available.

Not to be rude to the people who wrote that article (the one quoted above), but they could really use Spell-Check. The missed an “i” in first, and even forgot to add the word “do” to this sentence; “…Windows 7 will make the things you today faster and easier …”

Now, in relation to this article; Sounds good so far! Im off now to read the full details!

to me its money for microsoft again .

microsoft needs to get vista correct first before issuing a new os like windows 7.

It looks like Microsoft took the PDF off.  Any chance you could put it directly on this site?

The purpose for Windows 7 (In my opinion), is pretty much a way for microsoft to appologize for/forget the abomonation that is Vista. The interface looks sleek and friendly, and you know that they’re gonna replicate, then correct the errors found in vista.

Im looking forward for Windows 7.
