The Windows 7 Family Pack was uncovered a while ago in the Windows 7 Home Premium terms. It basically stated that Microsoft would sell a Windows 7 Family Pack which allowed purchasers to install the operating system on up to three computer systems in one household. There were no information about the price of this family pack at that time and some bloggers even suggested that it was not a product that would be released at all.
Ed Bott dug a little bit deeper and discovered that the two retailers Expercom and University IT Computer Sales already listed the Windows 7 Family Pack Upgrade on their websites (both offers have been pulled by now). The price for the Windows 7 Family Pack Upgrade was $136.95 at the Expercom website and $144.95 at the University IT Computer Sales website. That’s an increase of about $20 for the family pack considering that the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade is offered with a $119.99 price tag. This could hint at a price tag of about $219 for the full Windows 7 Family Pack.

The same shops listed some of the Windows 7 Anytime upgrades as well:
- UPG WINDOWS ANYTIME/W7 STARTER TO HOME PREMIUM UPGRADE Microsoft – Model 4WC-00040 $81.95
- UPG WINDOWS ANYTIME/W7 HOME PREMIUM TO PROFESSIONAL UPGRADE Microsoft – Model 7KC-00040 $90.95
- UPG WINDOWS ANYTIME/W7 HOME PRE TO ULTIMATE UPGRADE Microsoft – Model 39C-00040 $137.95
The anytime upgrade Windows 7 Professional to Windows 7 Ultimate was not listed in the store but it is suggest to sell for $20 – $30.
