To be precise, the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade is available for $50 instead of $120 while the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Upgrade is available for $100 instead of $200. Discounts are similar in Canada. You can follow the links below to go right to the Amazon store and order your discounted copy of Windows 7.

For above: I think you can only pre order from 31 August. Check this offial upgrade page:

Or you can also check the Microsoft/Windows website for your country.

I don't know if you're going to post this, but the Wzor site has been updated today and reports that Windows 7 Build 7271 is the final RTM build and was compiled yesterday!

  • There will be more discounts. Ms really wants to launch Windows 7, The forecasts say that by 2012 85% of the Windows users will use Win 7. By that time vista will be dead and the rest 15% will be XP. Windows Mobile is not included in this stats!
  • Cheap pre-orders of Windows 7 (these is where Vista Ultimate owners are getting screwed).

“Starting June 26, Windows Vista owners will be able to pre-order a copy of Windows 7 for delivery on October 22 of either Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional,” said Brad Brooks, vice president for Windows consumer marketing, in a video interview.

For Windows 7 Home Premium in the U.S., pricing will be $49.99, and the Windows 7 Professional version will be $99.99.

But what about Windows Vista Ultimate owners? guess what? you’re not getting a discount to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate even tough you payed for the most expensive edition of Windows Vista.
