Although Windows 7’s sounds are ‘ok’, personally I don’t think they are as good as the sounds in previous Windows versions. Microsoft seem to have given free reign to the Windows 7 wallpaper team, but restricted the windows 7 sound team.
If you’re looking for a way to jazz up your Window 7 sounds then check out iFX Seven Sound Creator. This free application allows you to create your own custom Windows 7 sound schemes:

- Windows 7, Vista, XP
- Intel Processor above 1.0mg’s
- 512mb or RAM
- ~20mb Of Hardrive
- 15” Screen above 800×600
- Mouse, Keyboard, and Speakers/headphone
- Windows Media Player 11 or 12 (12 is on Windows 7 only)
