A Closer Look at: Windows 7 Parental Controls

There is lots of nice features in Windows 7, and I recently came across the new and improved parental controls, I must say I was rather impressed. In Windows 7, the level of customizability that your given is quite remarkable. There are various different options you can choose from that give concerned parents a comfortable amount of control. Such as, what times the computer is allowed to be used, and what kind of games can be played.  Below I have gone into more depth to show you how to set parental controls and the different options that you have.

1. Firstly to access parental controls go to

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> Set up parental controls for any user

2. Now make sure you are logged in as the administrator or have administrator access, and select the account ( if it’s already made ) from the list, you also have the option to create a new account as well.

3. Once you have selected the account you want to add parental controls to, check the On, enforce current settings box. You now see the various different parental control features that you have available to you.

4. The first setting parents can have control over is ” Time Limits”, from here you can easily choose what times of the day your computer can be used, by simply highlighting the time blocks, you can choose whether that account can be used or not.
