Firefox Windows 7 Theme

Tip: Click here to run a free scan for common PC errors

My browser of choice is Google Chrome as it’s so much faster than any other Windows 7 browser, but many users are still using Firefox.  Out of the box Firefox has a very grey and boring theme, that doesn’t sit well with Windows 7, but this can be improved by installing this Firefox theme for Windows 7.  The Windows 7  theme currently only works with Firefox 3.5, but full 3.6 support will probably be added once its beta is over. Firefox3_5 Windows_7 To install just download the file and copy the userChrome.css in this archive to %appdata%/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<yourProfile>/chrome and reopen Firefox.  To get the Aero Glass effect you also need to install the Firefox Addon Glasser. More Windows 7 themes are available for download in our themes section, as well as Windows 7 Wallpapers.

A minor nit...the phrase "many users are still using Firefox" seems vaguely dismissive, as in "these people haven't yet seen the light and moved to Chrome, but they will."

I personally will never use Chrome as my browser. If it takes over 100% of the market and is the only browser available, I'll write my own.

Google and Chrome are far too big-brotherish to me. I like my freedom and privacy.

The whole big brother thing with Google really irritates me, maybe I just have more trust in people than you. But I really don't think that they would give out my details (why mke out of how many people?) I'm interested do you use Google Search at all?

But I won't use Chrome until I can use extensions with it.
  • you can use extensions with chrome....
  • Jonathan
Thanks, I hadn't realized you could yet :)
  • maybe the phrase is a bit too strong, but I do feel like the browser momentum at the moment is with chrome, just like the mobile momentum seems to be with Android

I think the Strata extensions and themes are much better than these. As it also makes the tab bar background Aero as well. (the Strata themes/extensions or based on FF3.7 and FF4 mockups)

Do you not update your firefox? This the latest post, and youre still on 3.1? 3.5.5 is out! The glasser addon is no longer compatable and needs to be updated.
  • Jonathan
I'm using 3.6 and I'm using Strata Glass and it's much better looking than the above screenshots.

i prefer chrome over IE or firefox.
its so fast n doesnt take up any toolbars.
the toolbars make the browser very slow which i ve experienced with IE n firefox
