The Windows 7 market campaign just keeps on getting better! We’ve had Windows 7 Launch Parties, Windows 7 Whoppers, Windows 7 and Family Guy and Windows Cafe’s, and now the latest edition to this list is the Sugababes.
The Sugababes are giving their singing career a break for the moment and are entering the world of IT and Marketing. They’ve put together a Windows 7 “Shake It” ad showcasing the new Aero shake feature in Windows 7. The Girls are making a surprise birthday card for Jade Ewan and nearly get caught in the act but Windows 7 saves the day! Check it out below
But wait there’s more, head over to sugababeslovewindows7.com to find out everything you need to know about Windows 7 and the Sugababes. You can find out what Windows 7 is, win tickets to the Jingle Ball and win your own private concert with the Sugababes! The girls have even had a go at creating their very own how-to Windows 7 videos which you can see more of here
The girls new album coincidently called ” Sweet 7 ” seems to be the main reason for Microsoft and the Sugababes pairing up and also as part of a wider promotion brokered by UM involving radio activity on Global Radio’s Heart FM’s 33-staion network and 95.8 Capital FM.
On the air users are asked to visit sugababeslovewindows7.com and also heart.co.uk and suggest fun and original occasions where the Sugababes could perform, maintaining the Windows 7 ” My Idea ” theme, and as i mentioned earlier the winner will win their very own performance of the Sugababes. Microsoft is also being showcased as the main sponsor of the Jingle Bell Ball on December 5-6, 2009, using the publicity to help raise awareness about Windows 7.
This is quite a different approach that Microsoft has taken, but then again most of Microsoft’s ideas for marketing Windows 7 have been quite different, what do you think? Is this a good move or not?
