The Collapse of Microsoft’s Mobile Phone Market
Microsoft announced its plans for the Windows Mobile 7 phone market. It looks like Microsoft may have everything going for it on the technology front. The OS features look good, but, and here is the catch, its success will depend on a lot of unknowns. Some of these unknowns are under its own control like device selection and pricing to app availability and carrier distribution. But it will not ship until December, which in today’s mobile market might well mean that it will be out of touch for a while.
Microsoft and Yahoo! Reach Agreement on Search
The European Commission has given Microsoft and Yahoo! the go ahead to to implement the search partnership. Microsoft will work with Yahoo!; the same search result listings that are available through Bing, will be provided to Yahoo!. In the meantime Yahoo! will take those listings and will innovate around them by integrating their own content.
